They were originally timber. They had to be repaired after a few years. But when the Board of Works leased the bridge to the local authorities in (I think) the 1950s a major job was done and I think the concrete dates from that time. bjg
that seems to be the case.i read somewhere that it was in 1949 the reconstruction took place.
