The Nore in 1897

F E Prothero canoed down the Nore, from Abbeyleix to New Ross, in 1897, and wrote about the trip in his Supplement to A New Oarsman’s Guide, published by the Cruising Club in 1898. Here is his account.

  3. I was over photographing part of the old Kilkenny Canal last week and I hope to get up a page about that, as well as one about the tidal Nore, over Christmas. bjg
