So how was the anti-SOPA, anti-PIPA blackout for you then? I’m all in favour of respecting copyright, and do my best to do so, but the actions of American congresspersons (who should have better things to do) seem to be way over the top.
This site usually sees the smallest numbers of visitors at weekends, so it was a surprise to find that yesterday’s visitor numbers were about half those of Tuesday. Numbers today (which has six hours to go) have already exceeded those of yesterday. There are some Wikipedia links to this site, but they don’t usually produce many visitors, so that’s probably not the cause, and the site was still up so I can’t see how WordPress’s support for the blackout could have affected matters.
Perhaps folk were paying attention to other matters. There was of course interesting news from the bond markets and the continuing Greek debt negotiations, and then there was the IMF’s proposed $500 billion fund-raising exercise. Maybe that was it.
