Cara/Brian. Would this person, be Richard De Burgh or is De Bourgho a definition of that name. The reason i ask is that on the opening of the Limerick and Ennis Railway in 1850, one of the locos used by the contractor, William Dargan, was named Sir Richard De Burgh, no such loco name or person has yet been traced, so given your posting here, i wonder were they one and the same. We have no idea what the loco was as used, but it might be it was just a special naming to mark the occasion, it appeared i think in the Clare Vindicator newspaper given the opening day. Regards.
