Sallins houseboat facility

Monday 2 September 2013 21:04

Waterways Ireland is seeking tenders for building a “houseboat facility” at Sallins. The interesting bits:

During construction, the canal will be closed to navigation but will remain in water. I wonder why.

IRBOA, the Irish Residential Boatowners Association, seems to have vanished, at least from cyberspace: I can’t find its website.

  1. IRBOA has indeed ceased to be Brian – not only in cyberspace but also on the water itself. Which is a bit of a pity for, given the current dramatic changes on the waterways, an organised and considered approach through its recognised form may well have served the community rather better than individual protests.
