It seems that this chap has bought the glof course near the (proposed) Doonbeg Ship Canal. I’m sure that any further development will be in the best possible taste.

Jackie Whelan tells me he is to extend his WCR railway right to the hotel, it will run alongside the golf course in part and the hotel are to part fund the construction. When he told me that it was 2012 and no more news on it has been heard, we can but wait and see.
