Lough Derg rally magazines

Inland waterways enthusiasts …

… will be delighted to hear of today’s victory by Colin Becker, the result no doubt of many years of practice at rally table quizzes.

We are reminded of the Christmas cartoon in Private Eye some years ago, depicting two choirboys, one saying to the other “I can’t believe it’s not Rutter”.

Lough Ree

Unlike Loughs Derg, Erne and Neagh, Lough Ree does not have a Coast Guard approved declared-resource rescue service, although Athlone Sub Aqua Club, Waveline/Quigley’s and no doubt others have provided help to boats in trouble. Now, it seems, Damien Delaney is hoping to set up a formal, approved service, according to the Wesstmeath Examiner.

I should point out that I am unable to change the speed of transitions on the slide show, which considerably underrepresents the speed of the slashing. Even clicking the forward arrow as fast as possible doesn’t do it justice.
