The Slaney cot: photos

I wrote here about a Slaney cot, built by Larry Duggan, which we had spotted on its way to Wales. The owner has very kindly sent some more photos of the cot’s construction, of Larry Duggan and of the cot on the Usk; I have put them on a separate page here.

Over the sea to Wye

Here is a page with some photos of what was said to be a Slaney Cot. The photos were taken in October 2010, in the car waiting area at Rosslare harbour; the cot was on a trailer, en route to Fishguard. It was said to have been built in Wexford and to be destined for the River Wye.

New section

I have started a new section on People. So far, the top-level page links only to the first entry, which is for Major Rowland Raven-Hart OBE, whose Canoeing in Ireland, published in around 1938, is a short guide to canoeing on several of Ireland’s longer rivers, including the Shannon, the Erne, the Suir, the Barrow and the Munster Blackwater.

I have added such information about Major Raven-Hart as I have been able to find.
